John Hardy TED Talk about Teaching The Next Generation of Green Leaders at the Green School

A dream that has been developing and expanding since I was a little girl is to create a home for orphaned children that concentrates on inspiring true love for self through understanding, compassion, and heart-growing techniques such as yoga, meditation and a connection to mother nature.

My dream for such a home has progressed from an abstract thought to an outlined plan…slowly. Nevertheless it is moving forward.

That is why I was so excited to come across this inspirational TED video of John Hardy, jewelry designer and developer of the Green School, discuss his completely environmentally-friendly school that concentrates on teaching children healthy ways to interact with the Earth. From compost toilets to intricate cathedral-style bamboo buildings, from recycled car parts turned chalk board to hands-on organic gardening classes, The Green School is helping 160 children become the world’s next green leaders.

I applaud John Hardy in developing his dream and walking on his own path of happiness. What he and his wife are doing is an inspiration for us all.
